~ Wall Flower ~

I had to say goodbye to my * Wall Flower * yesterday. If you remember, I did her as a piece during our fabulous "Summer of Color" with our wonderful Kristin.. This was, (I think for the second week) "Green".

I've talked about it on here before, but as you all know, I very rarely add, if not ever used to add color to my drawings.  So needless to say that  the summer of color was truly a challenge, yet so very inspirational to me! So many wonderful artists & now proud to call *friend* really truly inspired me to invite color into my drawings. & now I can proudly say, that I love color & welcome it with open arms...

So anyway, here she is....my * Wall Flower * I really can't believe that she's gone. It's one thing doing commissioned work, you're creating it for that special someone.  But this was different, that special someone was *me*... & all of you too, for all you inspired me during this past summer. So I dedicate this post to all the magical people who have supported my art since starting this little venture of mine...  You have to believe in the magic, & all your dreams will come true.

  2. Joanna, when you add color to your drawings, they're always very very beautiful. And the colors stand out but are also in such harmony with the drawing that make the art outstandingly sweet and pretty!

  5. Another so beautiful piece of art. You have the balance of colour just perfect and I am so glad that we met through the Color of Summer. It has been fascinating watching you grow with colour and also coming across your beautiful drawings.

  7. Oh, this made me tear up! What a beautiful post and how sweet of you to mention The Summer of Color! I know that she must have gone to a wonderful home - what a lucky recipient!
Your art - with or without color - is so special. I love seeing what you come up with and I am always inspired, thank you! xoxo

  8. This is so bittersweet. I don't know how you really let go of originals yet. I am struggling with it. You're extraordinary and magical! I love all your work!
