"Innocence"

I didn't even get a chance to talk about her, before to my surprise, she's been sold... I'm so pleased I think I'm speechless! But, I have to admit, it was really hard letting her go :( I was so happy with the way this piece came out, capturing the look just as I intended. Sweet, & *Innocent*.  & I couldn't be happier with to whom I sold her to...I truly believe that she will appreciate her as I would. & after all this is why I do what I do, so that my drawings can bring the joy they bring to me to others as well :)

"Love Bud"

A name only a 5 year old little girl could love. This is her teddy bear that she's been  so attached to ever since Valentines Day of last year. I think he was first just Rose, but that didn't work, then it was Rose Bud, that didn't work either. Quickly he became her *Love Bud*, whom she sleeps with every night and goes practically every where she does. That's of course when *Blankie* isn't around. & yes that's "his" name, not just a blankie, but Blankie the person. Like I said, a name only a 5 year old little girl could love.

So I drew this up for her while she was away at school yesterday. As she exclaimed "Thank you Mommy...Thank you Love Bud!!!"

She's "Sorrow"

I've named her *Sorrow* I know this name came to me half way through completion of this piece.  & I wasn't sure I was going to settle on this name, till when all finished today, it just seems fitting for her.  As she reminds me of a pretty girl when looking in the mirror feels nothing but sorrow because she doesn't feel as pretty or worthy on the inside.  With a yearning to to be liked and appreciated.

Just in Time for Easter

Well, you all know that I have a slight passion/obsession for bunny rabbits.  Lol that's because of my crazy lil guy of course, Fred.  Well, I've wanted to sketch a bunny for some time now, & haven't probably since I was a kid and drew nothing but fluffy animals & stuffed toys etc... Well, we brought out our Easter decorations the other day, and stumbled upon my favorite little bun statue.  Here he is, on paper. Slightly fuzzier than the statue ;)

Brand New Monogram :)

Monogram E

Yes I blogged about this on my photog blog :/ I know it belongs here, but what the heck, I'm in a blogging mood to day...so here you have it..again.

My newest monogram piece. Just listed this on Etsy with the hopes that someone might make a request. I for one would think this would dress up any little girls room...although, I've yet to make one for my Maddie. It's on my very long to do list, amongst framing some of my fairies for her room as well.  What can I say, there's just not enough time in a day!

What to Sketch Next?

Well, I just finished up a portrait of a little girl commissioned recently.  This project took about week, & just about consumed me over this whole weekend, & yay, was completed yesterday!  It was such a pleasure though what a truly beautiful little girl she is, the eyes of an angel  :)

So, what's next?  I think I'm going to expand my monogram line, I've only got a few listed on Etsy, but I think I might want to make a few more, using 11X14 paper.  I could truly sit and sketch floral patterns all day... But still I think I might want concur something a bit different, I'll have to do a bit of brainstorming I suppose.  Need to get inspired...

What's in a Name?

My newest piece...not finished with her yet...but at this stage of the drawing, I like to atempt to think of a name for the piece. I'm a bit baffled with her, I look at her & I think sorrow. I think of a  pretty girl who doesn't feel *pretty* on the inside, constantly looking for approval & confirmation that she's loved. I'm not sure right now, I'm going to have to ponder this one for a while.

Who, What, Where, How?

These are the questions, that have been going round & round my head this past month...I just opened up my Etsy shop & am quickly learning how hard it is to share my work.  It's finding out who to share with first of all, what pieces to share, where to link up, & of course how I go about doing all of this...

I just am currently feeling like "A Bit of Whimsy" is a teeny tiny needle in a haystack amongst soooo many amazing shops in the world of Etsy.  So here's how I need to get creative...I've already shared the news to all of my friends of family.  Which in kind of a way was the hardest part of all of this.  It's still so surreal to me, that I've even taken this leap of faith.  So what's next... draw draw & draw, it's what I love to do, what ever happens next, well, I'll just have to wait & see.
