The Summer of Color ~ Green

It's Monday! & it's time for *The Summer of Color* over at Twinkle, Twinkle! The theme this week is "Green". Can I say how happy I am to be part of this colorful challenge, because traditionally I NEVER work with color, so this is definitely a challenge for me... Last week I photoshoped my color into my drawing...this week I decided to go on a limb & try out water colors.

Here I've created "Wall Flower" She wants to be included, but can not gather the courage to put herself out there...she'd rather fade into the background...





Can't wait to check out everyone's works of Green :)

Summer of Color ~ Blue

What a way to welcome in summer over at Twinkle, Twinkle,"The Summer of Color", is a 10-week blog party celebrating art in all it hues!




Here's my interpretation, she's called *Free* I can't remember when I created her...for this challenge, I added different shades of blue to her throughout. This is my first attempt at coloring using photoshop!

My First Art Fair

So nervous leading up to this day. Up until the last minute I thought it would have been cancelled due to rain, but the show went on & so did I. I was so pleased with the way everything turned out, between the easels, the picture frames & the baskets, it all came together just the way I wanted it to.





Me, I'm afraid, looking a little bit like Old Mother Hubbard :/ There was a chill in the air and on & off rain...but my spirits were still high regardless!









The kiddies enjoyed the day as well...as this is their favorite pond, located next to our towns library it's a place we frequent to feed the ducks & take pictures :)





And at the end of the day Maddie made me a picture saying "here mommy, I made you a picture for your special day, but it's not only for you it's for your basket." You see I had a basket to hold my various drawings...so here she placed it. What more could I ask for...

And to my surprise, to make the day even better, I sold 3 prints!!!

Summer of Color

Beginning today - and every Monday throughout the event - we will focus on and create art based upon the beautiful, bold and luscious colors of the rainbow. The purpose of the event is to emerge ourselves into the world of color: playing, experimenting and learning from one another throughout the lazy days of Summer . . .




This weeks theme is *Blue* I'm happy to get started on this fun project!

Fine Arts Festival!!!

It's this Saturday, and I'm besides myself with excitement... It was only a few months ago that I opened up my Etsy shop... But the idea of people actually seeing my art *in person* has gotten me gitty like a little girl! I've said many many times since starting this journey that it's so extremely surreal and unbelievable that other people are seeing my work. This whole thing of sharing my drawings is so foreign to me still... & to think that I get so much joy getting other people's reactions, it's a mystery as to why I've been so hesitant. Call it low self esteem, insecurities, I suppose. Getting over these fears alone I think makes it all so worth it in the end.



The only thing left to do is to get a bunch of prints made up of some drawings & think I'll be good to go!

A Teddy Bear

I have to start off by saying that my art work has never made it to a picture frame before, it's only recently that I framed "Dreamer" & a print of *Innocence* (I never felt my stuff was ever anywhere near *frame worthy* ....Well, I came home yesterday with some frames for a few new pieces... & I'm going on about which one should go where, and here she is, Maddie,  looking up at me with those eyes, and says "Mommy I wish we could put Love Bud in there." How could I say no to that?  We cropped him a bit,  she added her own little tittle at the top of the picture & there you have it...we'll hang him up in her room, for hopefully as long she'll have him.... such precious years, where her whole world is wrapped up into just one little Teddy bear. I swear she sat there looking at that picture as if he were real.  What a true Kindred Spirit I have in my little 5 year old daughter.

"Faith"

Here she is in completion...looking up at whomever, will have the undoubtedly *Faith* that she will have her unwavering love  forever.  It's that innocence & just pure love that I wanted her to possess.  It's in those eyes, those oh so loving eyes.

Oh Those Eyes...

She's going to be *Faith*...


Obviously not completed, but couldn't help but want to write about her...it's those eyes, it's those unwavering loving eyes. It's the *faith* that whom ever she's looking at will have her love for all years to come. It's funny because now I'm looking at her and thinking what else, she's so undone, yet done at the same time. I'm loving her just the same. She will be complete I'm sure in a day or 2...till then, I'm just going to enjoy her as is.

"Hope"

My newest fairy, she's *Hope.* I've just completed her and couldn't be more in love with her. She's simply exudes hope to me when I look at her.
